The Circuit
Laws:
To all who know how to solve the problems
mathematically, here’s something to work out. Please apply yourself.
Kirchoff's
Current Law:
At every junction the algebraic sum of all currents is
zero. This is embedded in the classical Continuity Equation arising out of the
Conservation of Charge.
Kirchoff's
Voltage Law:
The algebraic sum of all voltages around a closed loop
in the circuit is zero. Its source can be seen in the Law of Conservation of
Energy.
Exercise:
Please apply Kirchoff's Current and Voltage Laws to the
figure shown above. I wonder how the Electricity Board managed to solve the
networking problem.
Reflection:
—But did it really? Could it be that it’s a well-designed
well-built nest of corruption? The connection to the house snaps you don’t know
when, and you call the electricity serviceman; on restoring it you are obliged
to pay him a pretty generous tip.
