In June 1970, Sri Aurobindo's Action was started by the Mother. The aim was in the Mother's words:

The only and unique aim of Sri Aurobindo’s Action is the country—India

India has to guard her independence

India has to defend herself

India has to reorganise herself

In June 1971, the first youth camp was being conducted in the Ashram by the organizers. I was asked to assist them in the logistics. Soon I was invited to speak on The Ideal of Human Unity. I was enthused and accepted the invitation. However, some senior sadhaks told me that all these talks were of no use since we ourselves had no unity among ourselves. Thus I was in a dilemma, and I referred the matter to the Mother asking Her whether it was useful. She replied in French. The translation is here:"If you make the effort to be interesting, constructive and convincing and can make them know something of the teaching of Sri Aurobindo, it will in any case be useful to you."
