Quantum Field theory postulates two types of particles of nature fermions : particles of matter (e.g.electrons) bosons : particles which convey force/radiation (e.g. photons for electromagnetic, gravitons for gravity). In QFT, it is particles which exchange force so there is no "action at a distance". All the four forces I mentioned come under Bosons. How Bosons correspond to Vayu is still unknown. Beyond all this stands String theory which says there are no point-like particles but rather it is the different vibrations of strings which gives rise to all these particles. Someone who understands both sides should be able to come up with a good unified theory.
