All that you are saying could make him an Ashramite. But the phrase ‘Ashram historian’ has a different connotation, could have a different connotation. What perhaps you mean is he is a historian from the Ashram, connected with the Ashram. But in my understanding, he is not an Ashram-sponsored historian to write such a book, with a kind of an official stamp of the work approved or supported by the Ashram. In the book whatever is said is the opinion of the individual, of the author concerned. If you simply say ‘a historian from the Ashram’ then your contention could stand. ~ RYD
