One must ask: "Dispassion towards what?"
Dispassion towards the Guru leads a sterile intellectuality.
Dispassion must be towards the world while Devotion/Union must be with the Guru. One who is attuned to the Guru would be able to write better. A guided effort must be preferred to a so-called objective effort.
