The relationship between He and She is different in quality and functioning on different planes; it belongs to several later formulations. But in the Story of Creation it is something yet deeper, fundamental. The inconscient Self and the somnambulist Force are already a great advance over the appearance of the absolute Void. But the Void, pure śūnya, being the creation of the Supreme himself, he with his Spouse is certainly present there, they being inseparable, there behind the purposeful Void. The Void cannot exist without him. It is through this Void that Savitri cut a door of entry into the Transcendent, and she went in not through the Door of the Sun, suryasya dwārah, but through this door and met the transformed Death—she met him to claim gifts for the Soul of the Earth. That is absolutely remarkable of Savitri—to cut a door through the Void and bring out the manifestation on which there can no more be the Shadow of the Void that was Death. ~ RYD
