A few of the questions that are before us are quite clear:
Do we have any ideals in all of this that we think are worth living up to?
Are these ideals ever worth fighting for and defending even if we dont care to propagate them?
Can we just live in our little corners and claim to be unaffected by all the 'forces' that are trying to prove our ideals to be false or hitching their importance and acceptance by others to other factors? If the answer is yes, isn't our attitude unrealistic and the result of fear and inertia and hasnt history taught us the error of burying our heads in the sand?
Are all those who claim to have faith in these ideals (but dont respect the most cardinal of principles in the pursuit of these ideals such as loyalty to the guru) really our allies and worthy of our complete trust? Is everyone really working to the same end as I or you are?
While this one might seem very improbable it isn't. Are there serious (albeit amorphous and uncoordinated) attempts at neocolonization (of minds this time) under way? And is what we are facing w.r.t Heehs book the fallout of one such attempt.
Is there anything that can be called an Indian attitude towards spirituality or the Guru that we should keep at all costs no matter what anyone tells us about it. And is it worth fighting for and defending as much as the the right to individual freedom is defended by the westerner? I realize they need not always be mutually exclusive.
Can we continue to feel that others can, will and should do everything and we nothing?
