Savitri: the Light of the Supreme
Re:Re: Gratitude

"Even in Integral yoga, Sri Aurobindo notes that spiritual development (opening to the spiritual mind and higher planes) may proceed a considerable degree without much accompanying psychic development, depending on the individual nature." I agree with you Kepler. The psychicization and devotion may come even after the experience of the Self or cosmic silence. It depends on the individuals nature or swabhava. There cannot be rigid rules to be applied to all natures. Some may develop it in later stages. Of course without gratitude for the Divine, Integral yoga cannot be complete. Gratitude is important because even after realizing the Self there is no guarantee that the sadhak will not falter and fall. Only devotion and gratitude for the Divine or the psychic guidance can save us from falling into ignorance and very essential for the supramental yoga. Sri Aurobindo said that one can start with any of the yoga's--works,knowledge or devotion but in an advanced stage they will culminate into one. Until then we cannot demand of other sadhaks the inner qualities of advanced stage of yoga. There may be some errors on the outer nature but it does not mean there is no realisation in the inner nature. But the inner will slowly transform the outer. It takes its time.
