Vikas, sorry for the delay in responding.
Two quick points:
It is, I believe, important to know and analyze what this particular person has said elsewhere and in other contexts for it has a huge bearing on his credibility. Considering his history (the brash, intimidatory tactics, and the demonization of specific groups of Indians before and after the Heehs affair), it could be useful to know the consistency with which he applies his 'principles' and the intentions/motives/ideologies behind his pronouncements. It would insure that he does not get the benefit (of the doubt) that he does not deserve (but seems to get as an editor of an 'IY' site).
Second – I did not imply that violence and war between India and Pakistan are the only way out. But I would not be able to understand it if someone insisted that war and attrition should be avoided at any cost.
