Srikant,
Your reminiscences of watching Sakshi Gopal and Chaitanya in Her presence were exhilirating. To watch the Divine and Her play unfold on the screen with the Divine seated by your side is surreal. Two Divine Lilas being played simultaneously.
The life of Chaitanya is deeply inspiring and soul-stirring. Not much has come from him directly although he was a great scholar. What he did leave were eight verses known as Sikshashtaka. I distinctly remember experiencing an intense delight coursing through my body upon first reading the last of these verses. Here it is...
"I know no one but Krishna as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly by His embrace or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord, unconditionally".
