Savitri: the Light of the Supreme
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 01: Some aspects of Inspiration and Technique in the Poetry of Savitri

The Tyger-bhāva and the Lamb-bhāva—should not come as a surprise to the Indian perception. Raudra-bhāva and Saumya-bhāva are just the two of the four cosmic bhāvas, the other two being Aishwyara-bhāva and Kaushalya-bhāva. But the heroic or the Kshātra of Blake’s poem well embraces the knowledge or the Brāhmanya aspect of the Godhead. Remember also the fierce Time-Spirit who commanded in his majesty the Battle of Kurukshetra, with a thousand heads and a thousand arms and burning with a thousand suns. After “demanding” the grace from his divine Friend and Master, Arjuna pleads him to reveal to him his gentle form, saumya-rūpa. ~ RYD
